HP VPlus technology is an
extremely powerful text based screen interface. VPlus services are tied to MPE
system intrinsic delivering flexible screen definition and user
interaction support. |
Developers can create screens that will
validate input, mask data, transition between screens, and that
interfaces to multiple types application.
ViewJ in combination with
PERCobol permits application mobility and migration of HP COBOL II applications from MPE/iX to modern "OPEN" platforms.
ViewJ
supports the migration and modernization FORMSPEC, VFORM file, VFAST file
and Process specifications used in the creation VPlus applications for the HP
e3000 server. Non disruptive platform independence is critical for in
moving existing MPE/iX COBOL applications into "Open" operating
environments.
Solution
ViewJ is a solution that allows current VPlus applications
to continue to function independent of the HP e3000. It is scaleable and
allows for the evolution of business applications
VPlus screens definitions used by ViewJ can be either VPlus
Fast or Slow Forms. and the associated VPlus processing specifications. The migrated
screens can either be "text" or "graphic" and can be configured
dynamically at execution time to be in either form.
