compiler is now available for Linux for zSeries and S/390 bringing the capabilities of
COBOL and Java technology

2001-- LegacyJ Corporation, today announced the availability of PERCobol Enterprise for
Linux for zSeries and S/390. PERCobol is the compiler that delivers advanced COBOL
functionality combined with Java capabilities.
LegacyJs PERCobol
compiler permits COBOL business applications to make use of advanced e-business
capabilities through the creation of applications, Servlets and Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB)
using COBOL business rules and logic. The LegacyJ COBOL compiler will generate programs
that will execute on most major operating environments including Linux. PERCobol for Linux
for zSeries and S/390 continues the LegacyJ emphasis of making available the latest COBOL
technology across wide range of operating systems. LegacyJ now offers a choice of
deployment options for eServer** zSeries and S/390 servers
PERCobol contains rich COBOL compile and execution
functionality. The PERCobol compiler supports a broad definition of COBOL syntax from most
popular COBOL vendors. COBOL applications can be deployed as web server applications
(using WebSphere), as applets or any combination of Server/Client application. PERCobol
compiles to J2EE compliant Enterprise Java Beans (EJBs) that can be integrated with other
EJBs from Java.
