Frequently Asked Questions

Job Control Language (JCL) and PROCLIBs have been created to submit batch jobs; are these relevant?

Batch Jobs may continue to load data into your database during off-peak hours.  If the data remains on the mainframe, no change is required to these processes.  However, if the data is moved to another operating environment these batch jobs will need to be recompiled and deployed.  LegacyJ PERCobol will compile your COBOL applications and permit these to redeployed on the same platform as where the data resides.  Scripts or Batch files will be required to provide similar capabilities of  JCL.
