If the application is moved between architectures, what actions are required for EBCDIC and ASCII data? 

LegacyJ Transaction Platform supports migration of applications from the mainframe to open environments.  Generally, LTP requires no conversion between EBCDIC or ASCII for data.  Elements that use fields as both text and binary will require manual checks. A new literal format (E”text”) may be used to make text which is to be treated as binary data.
