LegacyJ Transaction Platform is a robust enterprise sub-system permitting CICS based COBOL applications to modernize and migrate to and execute in the J2EE environment.

LegacyJ Transaction Platform integrates business applications into a cohesive, flexible, enterprise solution that allows existing business processes to use and exploit J2EE based technologies. LegacyJ Transaction Platform reduces time, complexity, and risk involved in building and redeploying CICS COBOL business applications. The LegacyJ Transaction Platform preserves existing business assets, reduces the total cost of ownership and increases flexibility as offered through Enterprise Java Bean transactions.

LegacyJ Transaction Platform provides traditional business sub-system services in the J2EE Application Server environment. These sub-system services will function in conjunction with the popular application servers available on a wide variety of operating platforms. The application infrastructure permits enterprises to integrate business applications, and use an integrated environment built using industry standards.

Initial migration activities can be accomplished in just a few days. Of course application configuration and testing are required, but the first steps can be accomplished rapidly. (A list of these initial migration steps are highlighted in the side column.)

Modernize to standards based computing is a straight-forward process, and LegacyJ is available to assist.

Gather application information for both old and new systems (hardware and software)
Place application and program resources into LegacyJ IDE.
Compile COBOL applications using PERCobol.
Automated generation of HTML from BMS screens.
Deploy COBOL Transactions to LTP to Application Server.
